WA Itineraries

Western Australia, located on the western third of the continent, is bordered by the Indian Ocean to the west and the Northern Territory and South Australia to the east. Internationally, direct flights into Perth connect you from many global cities, while a drive from Adelaide to Perth could take around two days, covering some epic Outback scenery. 12 days of non-stop beauty driving along New South Wales’ cruisy coastline

Day 1: Apollo Sydney Branch to Hunter Valley

Travel time: 3 hours 21 minutes

Distance: 244 kms

After soaking in the city sights of Sydney (don’t forget the Bronte Rock Pool!) pick up your #ApolloCamper and let’s get moving. Just under 4 hours on the road and you’ll find yourself among the 150+ wineries in the Hunter Valley.

Day 2: Hunter Valley

Early mornings are worth it for a birds eye view of the Hunter Valley! Float with the sun and experience the vibrant landscape from above on a hot air balloon. Once back on ground, spend your day exploring a couple of the Hunter Valley’s 150+ wineries and restaurants.

Day 3: Hunter Valley to South West Rocks

Travel time: 3 hours 54 minutes

Distance: 311 kms

4 hours on the road today with South West Rocks as your destination? Yes please! Literally known as an “idyllic seaside escape”, get ready for a day by the water or, if you’re keen to get closer to underwater life, hire some scuba gear and explore the incredible diving locations this region has to offer!

Day 4: South West Rocks to Yamba

Travel time: 2 hours 39 minutes

Distance: 232 kms

Another day to keep heading north. Today, after a just over 2.5 hour drive, you’ll be entering Yamba, a New South Wales town known for its incredible beaches, epic fishing and even a dolphin sighting or two!

Day 5: Yamba

Spend your fifth day on your NSW road trip however you like, but don’t mind us recommending that you should hit up at least one of the eleven beaches in Yamba. If you’re up for it - sign up for a surfing class and hang ten on some waves.

Day 6: Yamba­ to Byron Bay

Travel time: 1 hour 45 minutes

Distance: 124 kms

After a short 2 hour drive from Yamba, arrive in Byron Bay! Tick off a few must do Byron Bay activities like Australia’s most easterly point, relaxing on the beach and don’t forget that photo‑in‑front‑of‑light‑house shot.

Day 7: Byron Bay

With views as dreamy as this, you’ll be in for a glorious day at Byron Bay. Be sure to soak up every moment in this famous NSW town. If you’re here between June and November, keep your eye out for humpback whales.

Day 8: Byron Bay to Coffs Harbour

Distance: 234 kms

Travel time: 2 hour 45 minutes

Time to turn your #ApolloCamper around and head back south towards Sydney. A quick 2 hour 45 minute drive later and you’ll be welcomed into the seaside Coffs Harbour by some of the coolest locals around - local kangaroos soaking up the sun!

Day 9: Coffs Harbour

The day is yours to explore! Did you know Coffs Harbour is home to the Big Banana, the Dolphin Marine Conservation Park AND the world‑heritage listed Dorrigo National Park. If you’re a cartoon lover, Coffs Harbour is home to the National Cartoon Gallery - Australia’s only gallery dedicated solely to cartoons.

Day 10: Coffs Harbour to Bellingen

Distance: 35 kms

Travel time: 30 minutes

Probably the shortest day on the road you’ll experience on any road trip today‘s road trip time is only 30 minutes (yep, you read that right!) Leave Coffs Harbour to your happy memories, today we’re off to Bellingen! While you’re here make sure you dine at the over 120 year old pub on Hyde Street and sample Bello’s local beer at a Bellingen Brewery & Co

Day 11: Bellingen to Seal Rocks

Travel time: 3 hours 12 minutes

Distance: 283 km

Have we saved the best for last? That’s for you to decide, Seal Rocks is famous for wild and remote beaches as well as a beautiful lighthouse with great views and is a must do on any NSW road trip!

 

Day 12: Seal Rocks to Apollo Sydney Branch

Travel time: 3 hours 11 minutes

Distance: 278 km

Enjoy your last few hours (about 3 of them!) in your #ApolloCamper before bidding farewell in Sydney. There’s always something happening in Sydney, so make sure you take advantage of your last day in one of Australia’s most famous cities.
