What’s Victoria known for?

Victoria’s got a bit of everything, and that’s what makes it such a fantastic destination for family road trips. You’ve got the buzz of Melbourne – with its cool street art, buzzing cafes, and parks perfect for the kids – but then there’s the quieter side of Victoria too. Head out of the city, and you’ll find everything from coastal drives along the Great Ocean Road to towns like Daylesford, where you can really slow things down and get a feel for local life.

What’s the best way to explore Victoria with your family?

If you’re exploring Victoria with the family, the key is flexibility. There are so mnay Victoria attractions for families – from coastal towns to lush forests – and trying to cram it all in with strict hotel check-ins can be tricky. That’s where a campervan road trip comes in. With your accommodation and transport rolled into one, you get to move at your own pace, making those spontaneous stops or lingering a little longer at a scenic spot easy. Plus, the kids will love the adventure of setting up camp in a new spot each night, whether it’s near the coast or tucked away in the countryside.

Not only is van travel comfortable and budget-friendly, but it also gives you the freedom to explore off the beaten track. You can park up close to nature, enjoy some downtime, or quickly head into town for a meal – all without worrying about finding the nearest hotel. Whether you’re hitting up the best family day trips in Victoria or just want the freedom to roam, a campervan gives you the best of both worlds.

Weather & Seasons in the Northern Territory

To get the most out of your time in the Northern Territory, we could recommend visiting during the dry season, which is between May and October.

It's worth noting that due to the Northern Territory's wet season (monsoonal rains and tropical storms) the Apollo Darwin and Alice Springs branches have a seasonal closure each year between late December and the end of March. The Darwin and Alice Springs branches then re-open at the start of the dry season on the 1st of April each year.

The Northern Territory has two distinct climates - the tropical Top End (Darwin) and the semi-arid Red Centre (Alice Springs).  The Northern Territory's capital, Darwin, has an average temperature of 32 degrees Celsius year round, but weather is more mild during the dry season. It's important to remember that no matter when you visit the Northern Territory, we would recommend that you stay hydrated, be sun smart and dress for the conditions.
